Alexandria School of Highland Dance

About

The mission of the Alexandria School of Highland Dance is to spread the joy of traditional Scottish Highland dancing through education, performance, and competition. We offer dance classes for children (4+) and adults at all levels in northern Virginia. Our dancers frequently perform around the Washington, DC area at festivals, parades, and private events, and we have a long-standing affiliation with the Washington Scottish Pipe Band. Dancers also have the opportunity to participate in Highland dance competitions across the country. Founded in 2020, our three instructors – Anne-Marie Berens, Amy Jenkins and Amy Shields – are certified through the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD) and ScotDance USA.
